ER Wait Times
Text ER to "23000" for the HCA Virginia system wait times closest to you (message and data rates may apply, for more info visit texterhelp.com).
Please note hospital policy that patients with life-threatening issues or serious medical conditions will be prioritized.
In an emergency room environment, many unpredictable events can occur that may affect wait times. Most importantly, patients who are in critical condition and need immediate care—often life-saving care—may prolong your wait. Your wait times may also be impacted if we are waiting for:
- Lab or X-ray results
- A visit from a consulting physician
- A pending specific room assignment
We want to make your visit to our ER as comfortable and efficient as possible. If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of our staff members. You can research what an average emergency room visit is like ahead of time so you can be prepared when an emergency strikes.
A Better, Faster ER
Chippenham Hospital is pleased to provide our emergency room patients with electronic ER check-in. This technology helps us triage and treat patients quickly and effectively. It enables our caregivers to retrieve important medical information and to create a paperless electronic record. The process is simple and quick — just like at the airport. Simply scan your driver’s license or enter basic identification information and the reason for your visit to begin the process.
